Ain\u2019t it?<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Truck drivers &#8211; A bearded massive man with a ball cap on his head, wearing a baggy flannel shirt over blue jeans. Is that the same picture that comes to your mind when you hear of a truck driver? The gender gap in the trucking industry has grown limitless that we find it hard to even picture women truck driver. Reports suggest that there are only 6% of women in the trucking industry. And over the past 15 years, there had been only a slight and hardly noticeable increase in the number of women in this industry (from 4.5 to 6%). How sad!?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 es necesaria la presencia de mujeres en el sector del transporte por carretera?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Seg\u00fan informes recientes, para satisfacer la demanda se necesitan 90\u00a0000 nuevos camioneros. Pero hay otra noticia desalentadora: para 2026, habr\u00e1 una escasez de casi 174\u00a0000 conductores en Estados Unidos. \u00bfQu\u00e9 significa esto? Evidentemente, necesitamos m\u00e1s mujeres en la industria del transporte por carretera para cubrir esta escasez. Pero, \u00bfpor qu\u00e9 nuestras mujeres no se sienten atra\u00eddas por este sector laboral?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Se ha observado que las mujeres son m\u00e1s atentas y prudentes al volante. Los datos indican que, en comparaci\u00f3n con los camioneros varones, las camioneras tienden a permanecer m\u00e1s tiempo en la empresa, tienen menos accidentes evitables, recorren m\u00e1s kil\u00f3metros y acumulan m\u00e1s horas de conducci\u00f3n. De esta forma, aumentan los beneficios de las empresas.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>\u00bfPor qu\u00e9 no hay muchas mujeres en la industria del transporte por carretera?<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El transporte por carretera ofrece diversas oportunidades y ventajas. El salario es bueno y cuenta con muchos otros beneficios como seguro m\u00e9dico, flexibilidad, etc. Sin embargo, a pesar de esto, las mujeres representan solo el 6% de la fuerza laboral. \u00bfQu\u00e9 les impide incorporarse a esta profesi\u00f3n?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Seguridad<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las mujeres quieren sentirse seguras y protegidas en su entorno laboral. <a href=\"https:\/\/uffizio.com\/es\/tracking-and-fleet-management-trucking-industry\/\">industria del transporte por carretera<\/a> No cumple con esa promesa. En lo que respecta a ba\u00f1os, duchas o opciones para dormir, las camioneras se enfrentan a muchos desaf\u00edos y les resulta dif\u00edcil adaptarse a un entorno tan duro. Proporcionar un entorno de trabajo seguro y respetuoso podr\u00eda atraer a m\u00e1s mujeres a este sector.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Acoso y cr\u00edticas<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Las mujeres de cualquier \u00e1mbito laboral se han enfrentado a cr\u00edticas de g\u00e9nero. Pero cuando se trata de una industria predominantemente masculina como el transporte, la intensidad de estas cr\u00edticas es mucho mayor de lo habitual.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>equilibrio entre la vida laboral y personal<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ser camionera implica vivir en la carretera. T\u00e9cnicamente, se pasa mucho menos tiempo con la familia. Las mujeres suelen ser reacias a ejercer profesiones que exigen sacrificar la vida familiar.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Escasez de camiones adaptados para mujeres<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los pedales, los asientos y los indicadores de un cami\u00f3n suelen estar dise\u00f1ados para conductores masculinos. Sin embargo, las conductoras, en promedio, son 15 cent\u00edmetros m\u00e1s bajas y pesan un 28 % menos que los conductores masculinos, lo que dificulta que logren un mejor control del veh\u00edculo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El sector est\u00e1 tomando nota de estos retos y se esfuerza por ofrecer mayor flexibilidad y compatibilidad para fomentar la diversidad en su plantilla. Ya se han implementado algunos cambios y la situaci\u00f3n de las mujeres conductoras sigue mejorando. Existen diversas asociaciones sin \u00e1nimo de lucro que trabajan con dedicaci\u00f3n para cerrar esta brecha de g\u00e9nero e incorporar a los millennials al sector.
